1987 Apostolic Journey to Detroit
On September 18, 1987 our late Holy Father Pope John Paul II arrived at Detroit Metropolitan Airport to begin an historic visit to the archdiocese. He traveled to Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Hamtramck, Ford Auditorium and Heart Plaza where he spoke on topics that touched our lives and hearts. He completed his tour on September 19th at the Pontiac Silverdome where tens of thousands joined with him as he celebrated the Mass.
