Regarding the Funeral Service for Daniel Armitage

Issued: January 9, 2012

A funeral service for Ann Arbor firefighter Daniel Armitage, who died on the I-696 freeway on Jan. 5, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at St. Hugo of the Hills Church, 2215 Opdyke Road, Bloomfield Hills. The body will lie in repose an hour before the service. Fr. Jack Baker, pastor of St. Perpetua Parish in Waterford, will preside at the Mass.

The Archdiocesan Department of Communications relays a request from the family and presider that no recording devices— video, audio, or still photography— be allowed in the church or elsewhere on church property during the funeral service. The church parking lot will not be opened to media vehicles.

Reporters and camera crews are reminded of the solemnity and dignity attached to this occasion, and we thank you in advance for your cooperation and respect of the family's wishes at this sensitive time.
