FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I pledge a gift to the Catholic Services Appeal?

Beginning each year on CSA Weekend, families and individuals in the Archdiocese of Detroit begin making pledges to the Catholic Services Appeal. Please contact your parish office if you wish to make a pledge.

Is there a payment plan?

Your pledge may be paid by first making an optional down payment; then by making nine additional monthly payments. Pledging a gift enables you to give more generously taking into account your other financial responsibilities. Simply check the boxes on your pledge card.

Do I need to make a down payment?

A down payment is optional. However, by making a down payment you can effectively spread your CSA gift over 10 payments. For example, if you pledge $500, you could make a down payment of $50, and then nine additional $50 payments, for a total of $500. In any event, pledging your CSA gift enables you to give more generously taking into account your other financial responsibilities.

May I give stock to the Catholic Services Appeal?

In addition, you are welcome to give stock to the Catholic Services Appeal. Please contact your parish for the appropriate information.

When will I receive payment envelopes?

The 10-payment plan is an easy way to give. After you have made an initial payment, monthly Pledge Reminder envelopes are mailed directly to you for nine months, beginning in July. The Pledge Reminder includes your pledge amount, amount paid, balance, and payment amount due.

Where do I send my CSA payment?

Please make your payment payable to Catholic Services Appeal and send it to:

Catholic Services Appeal
PO Box 44077
Detroit, MI 48244-0077

If you pay electronically through your bank, please be sure to use this address.

Has my CSA Identification Number changed?

You now have a universal Family ID, no matter the parish where you are registered or what other parish you wish to receive credit for your CSA gift. Your Family ID no longer has a prefix signifying your registered parish. Your registered parish is now identified in the general CSA information system.

Each pledge now receives a unique Pledge ID, which identifies that particular pledge and assures accuracy in recording your payments. This Pledge ID is unique for each pledge you make to CSA, whether to multiple parishes or for each CSA campaign year. If you pay electronically through your bank, please use the new Pledge ID.

Can I make CSA gifts through more than one parish?

You are welcome to make a CSA gift to any parish you choose. Your Family ID will generate one end of year tax statement (sent in January) that will show all your CSA gifts. You will no longer receive multiple parish end of year statements from the CSA office.

What if I have questions about my CSA Pledge Reminder?

If you have any questions about your CSA Pledge Reminder, please E-mail or call CSA at csa@aod.org or
(313) 237-5768.
