Dear Brothers and Sisters,

A lot of things have crossed my desk this week which I think needs your attention.  Thank you for all you are and do and see you at these upcoming events!

Let us pray for Andrew Clark, Director of Music at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish in Waterford is in the ICU at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital. He's had surgery and is in need of prayers.

Peace and all good to you,

Louis

We, as liturgical musicians, have little time to gather and celebrate our ministry and our gifts.  I hope that we can get together Sunday, September 12, at the annual Evening Prayer Gathering at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament.  This is a time for us to gather, pray for one another, and enjoy fellowship.  Along with the usual festivities, we will get a sneak preview of Christine Chun’s repertoire for the Cesar Frank Organ Competition in the Netherlands.  Christine is one of ten finalists for this event.  This is a great honor for all of us.  She begins the three-round competition a week later, so we get to hear a thirty-minute portion of her materials.  Afterward, we will have the opportunity to wish her well at the fellowship under the tent.  All music ministers from choir members to music directors are welcome. The evening begins at 5 p.m. with prayer.

We would like to celebrate those that have been in ministry for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, etc. years.

Please let us know if you will be attending by emailing Louis Canter at canter.louis@aod.org.

This Sunday we kick off a concert series hosted by Aaron Kaleniecki at St. Aloysius parish, downtown. The church is located at 1234 Washington Blvd. in the heart of the downtown area.  The concert begins at 1:30 pm and will feature Louis E. Canter playing the music of J.S.Bach, Julius Reubke and his own compositions.  Free will offering appreciated.  For more information please download the flyer or call Aaron at 313-575-0642
