Dear Friends,

The holiday weekend has shortened the work week for me and many like me, so I am sending a short version of the Update to highlight some important things coming up in the near future.

I would like to draw our attention to the event happening this weekend at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament.   The recent passing of Andrew Clark has reminded me again of the fragility of our life and the importance of the gift of one another.  I am hoping that we can gather together this Sunday to celebrate our gifts as brothers and sisters in the ministry of music.   It is easy to get too busy and forget we work along side one another, even from a distance.  If you cannot make it, please let us hold one another in prayer daily.  We serve the Lord with gladness and we celebrate our giftedness.  I truly hope to see you this Sunday.

Blessings on your day
Louis

We, as liturgical musicians, have little time to gather and celebrate our ministry and our gifts.  I hope that we can get together Sunday, September 12, at the annual Evening Prayer Gathering at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament.  This is a time for us to gather, pray for one another, and enjoy fellowship.  Along with the usual festivities, we will get a sneak preview of Christine Chun’s repertoire for the Cesar Frank Organ Competition in the Netherlands.  Christine is one of ten finalists for this event.  This is a great honor for all of us.  She begins the three-round competition a week later, so we get to hear a thirty-minute portion of her materials.  Afterward, we will have the opportunity to wish her well at the fellowship under the tent.  All music ministers from choir members to music directors are welcome. The evening begins at 5 p.m. with prayer.

We would like to celebrate those that have been in ministry for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, etc. years.

Please let us know if you will be attending by emailing Louis Canter at canter.louis@aod.org.
